Montgomery County is a county in the U.S. state of Maryland. It’s the most populous county in Maryland and the second-most populous county on the eastern seaboard, after New York County, New York. Montgomery County was formed from parts of Prince George’s County and Washington County on December 12, 1696 by letters patent issued by King William III of England. The county seat is Rockville.
Montgomery College (MC) is located in Rockville, Maryland and is one of 23 community colleges in Maryland. MC was founded in 1966 as an extension campus of American University; it became an independent institution in 1970 when it merged with Montgomery Junior College and changed its name to Montgomery College—the name change was intended to reflect its broader mission as a two-year institution offering associate degrees at both its Rockville campus.
